As a team rebounding from years of losing and failure, I felt the need to come up with something a bit more "spirited" for my favorite team in the NFL, the Detroit Lions. They are a team with a rich history that really has been ignored in a lot of ways, and I wanted to combine both the old and new looks with this set. I added some modern striping to their uniforms to 'spice' things up, and added some gradient numbers to modernize things.
The inspiration for several alternates and combinations comes from a team that I very much appreciate-- the Oregon Ducks. Not that I am making the Lions the "Oregon Ducks of the NFL," but I feel that in order to keep clean, simple designs intact, you cannot throw everything in to one jersey; plus, who doesn't love a little variety now and then?
